“ Delicious Misal Pav & Great Service Had a good experience at Katakirr, Pune. I tried their Medium Spicy Misal Pav — it was flavorful, with a generous amount of farsan that added a nice crunch. The Mattha was a perfect refreshing companion to balance the heat. I also tried the extra rassa, which was fiery but enjoyable! Didn’t go for their famous Tikhat Misal this time, but definitely planning to try it next visit. The seating is clean and mostly shared-style, and the service is fast and efficient. Billing was a bit slow, and the interiors are quite simple — but overall, a great place for authentic Misal lovers. ”
“ My favourite misal. Though this dish Misal has no specific recipe, it may be completely different at every other Misal place. They've definitely cracked the code. Probably one of the most clean and hygienic Misal places in town. The Misal: It is strongly recommended to have 'medium spicy' Misal. The Pav ( bread they offer) is always fresh n soft. With your bites with a small amount of tarriiii farsan and freshly chopped onions you start feeling the missiles of flavours blasts in your mouth.... Oh my my my! Just love it. You need to learn the right way to eat this dish. How to take the mixture in a spoon with the help of Pav, then how and when to add the tarri ( gravy) in the bowl. I remember eating atleast 8-9 pavs with one Misal here. I've been visiting this place for at least 14 years now, and I can say they've maintained the taste and quality. I really wish and hope that they will continue doing the same for year after year. Verdict: Misal lovers, non lovers and haters, you must visit this place. ”
“ Nice place for Misal enthusiasts. Different types of spice levels available. Mattha is a must have with Misal. Great place you will not be disappointed for sure. ”
“ The redemption arc: Once a cult destination for all misal lovers, Katakirr fell out of flavour within enthusiast circles rapidly for failing to meet quality and consistency standards, equating their misal to nothing but तिखट पाणी. For me that whole period of Katakirr just staying as a non existent option while there were much more viable options nearby, I had lost all hope for this place to have a worthy breakfast or lunch menu. Fast forward to recently, when I heard murmurs of this place catching up to its once celebrated glory, I decided to check it out for lunch. The rumours were true. Good, quality misal, not overtly spicy, flavourful ingredients, and overall good qc. The service was good as well. It feels good to see the once fallen hero rise up yet again. Good option for breakfast or lunch meet. ”
“ One of the well-known spots in Pune for Misal, and it truly lives up to its reputation! I absolutely loved the taste — it’s mildly spiced yet bursting with rich flavors, a refreshing change from many other places where “taste” often just means overwhelming spiciness. The Misal here strikes a perfect balance — flavorful, comforting, and enjoyable without setting your mouth on fire. It’s a great option for anyone who appreciates authentic taste without excessive heat. The place is also very affordable, making it even more appealing. They offer a nice, clean sitting area, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. If you’re in Pune and craving a hearty, satisfying Misal experience, this place should definitely be on your list! ”
“ One of the best misal in Pune. If you want to have a real taste of their misal then take a medium spicy one. It's definitely tasty and worth every penny. Also try their Mattha( spice flavoured Buttermilk) it is so refreshing. ”
“ This place is famous for “Thihat- extra spicy “ misal pav. This is indeed extra spicy!! This place is highly popular for authentic Maharashtrian Misal Pav- spicy and delicious. Masala Buttermilk is a must try and a great combination with spicy misal pav. One of the best Misal i every tasted- would highly recommend this place for everyone ”
“ If you love spicy and flavorful Misal, Katakirr Misal is a must-visit! The misal here is perfectly balanced with crispy farsan, matki usal, and a spicy tarri that adds a fiery kick. The pav is fresh and soft, complementing the misal perfectly. The place is usually crowded, but the service is quick and efficient. The spice levels are customizable, so you can choose according to your preference. Pairing it with buttermilk or solkadhi helps balance the heat. The ambience is simple but clean, and the food quality is top-notch. Highly recommended for all misal lovers! ”
